Chief Executive Officer of Kayrom Lee Group of Companies, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde has charged the Nigerian Association For Physical And Health Education, Recreation Sports And Dance (NAPHER-SD) students on the need to make use of varying opportunities that abound in the sporting world to help mold them into a viable entrepreneur.
In a lecture delivered at the annual dinner of the association held at the faculty of Education, University of Ibadan, Amb Ayinde, who is also the Oyo State mother of Sport to the National Sport festival, Asaba 2022 held in Delta State, advised the students to see their course of study as a good means to an end to make it in life rather than the old notion of 'what can you do with studying sports'.
"The old notion of what you can do after your degree as a Physical education is far gone because with the coming of the new age of social media, vast opportunities is abound and presents diverse opportunities for professionals and entrepreneurs while also serving as a catalyst for the development of sports.
"What you now need is to find what you are suit for and explore it to the maximum to achieve your aim and aspiration in life," Amb Ayinde said.
Amb. Ayinde further added that sports business plays a crucial role in fostering the growth and development of sports at the grassroots level and to nurture new talents.
She, however, urged Nigerians to invest in activities that can promote promote health, fitness, and strengthen social bonds within communities.
"Businesses can sponsor youth sports programs, leagues, and academies to provide opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills and passion for sports. These programs often include coaching, training, and competition opportunities, helping to identify and nurture talent from a young age," Amb Ayinde, who is a wellness and fitness expert added.
While delivering his remark at the occasion, the Head of Department of Physical And Health Education, Recreation Sports And Dance department, Professor Fadoju praises the students for organising a befitting annual dinner and advised them to shun anything that may tarnished their image and the image of University of Ibadan whenever they find themselves.
The highlight of the events is the swearing of the new Executive that will run the affairs of the NAPHER-SD for the next one year. The oath of office was administered on the Elizabeth Suru 's led newly executive by Professor Fadoju.
