NANPF Plans Protest March Over Police Killing of Remo Stars Player

The National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANPF) has concluded plans to stage a protest march to the offices of the Inspector General of Police, the National Assembly and the Nigeria Football Federation in Abuja on the 2nd of March 2020 to protest the killing of one of her members, Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) Assistant Captain and Defender, Tiyamiyu Kazeem (Kaka) killed by a policeman from the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) from the Ogun State Command.
The National body in conjunction with its FCT Council is planning to mobilise it’s members to stage a peaceful protest march, asking the IG , the leadership of the NFF and National House of Assembly to investigate the unwarranted and unnecessary killing of Tiyamiyu and bring the perpetrator(s) of this dastardly act to book.

Nigeria's Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure says his Belgian club, Club Brugge remain firmly on track to advance to the next round despite the disappointing draw against Manchester United in the Europa League.
According to Club Brugge official website, the skillful striker, who made his debut for the Nigeria's senior team on 10 September 2019 in a 2–2 friendly draw to Ukraine, coming on as a 82nd-minute substitute for Samuel Chukwueze said the game is not yet over his team will work toward a win against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Speaking on the outcome of the game, the former Zorya Luhansk of Ukraine striker said he is not happy with the result of the game because his team want to win.
"We wanted the win, but didn't succeed. We now have to work towards that second leg at Old Trafford.
"Everything's possible in football, we will see what happens there", Bonaventure added.
The second leg between Manchester United and Club Brugge will take place at Old Trafford on February 27.

The founder of a Non-governmental organization, Hassan Olawale Giwa Foundation, Arc. Hassan Giwa has called for collaborative effort to improve healthcare system in Oyo State.
Arc Giwa, who made the call during the foundation's free medical programme held at Oore, Lagelu North LCDA on Thursday, February 20, 2020, asserted that in the quest for easy access to quality healthcare service, government should not be left alone to shoulder the responsibility.
He called for collaborative effort between the government, private organizations and individuals to enable the provision of quality healthcare service accessible and affordable.
Arc. Giwa, who also donated a power generating set to the General Hospital, Lagun, said that the foundation will continue to compliment the government's effort to give hope to the people and to having access to quality healthcare service delivery.
"Over the years, Hassan Olawale Giwa Foundation has been contributing to the development of the society. It has been supporting education by providing furniture and rehabilitate dilapidated structure. It has been supporting students in terms of provision of uniforms, payment of examination fees for the final year students both in secondary and primary levels and distribution of writing materials to aid their education.
"We will continue to support farmers, traders, women and widows and youths in our capacity," Arc. Giwa Stated.
He assured that, the foundation will in due time rolls out other programmes in its pipeline, in which some of them include provision of uniforms and school bag for students, empowerment for women and widows and its annual Ramadan lecture.
The traditional ruler and Ola of Lagun elect, Chief Olalekan Bello applauded the initiative and kind gesture of the organiser towards the community and entire Lagelu Local Government.
The traditional ruler hinted that the gesture will give the hospital opportunity to deliver more to the people of Apatere, Oore, Ogidi, Lagun, Osun and other adjoining communities in Lagelu North Local Council Development Area.
Dr. Elujulo Adefioye, who attended to the people said the timing of the programme is accurate, stating that over 200 of the beneficiaries have high blood pressure, but were not aware.
The doctor enjoined the people to on regular basis visit the hospital for medical check-up to have update information about their health system.
The representative of General Hospital, Lagun, Senior Medical Officer, Dr. Adeleke Oluwaseun, gave kudos to the donor and organizer of the programme.
She promised that the staff will continue to give their best to provide quality healthcare service to the people and as well, making judicious use of the power generating set.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Chief Tunde Ishola, said that the programme availed them opportunity to know the status of their health and encouraged them on how to go about it in terms of treatment.
About 300 people from different communities in Lagelu North LCDA benefited from the programme.

LMC Bans Heartland From Transfers

Nigeria Professional Football League side, Heartland FC has been banned from signing new players for the next two registration periods and until they comply with a ruling by the League Management Company (LMC) in separate complaints of unlawful termination of contract and indebtedness filed by two former players of the club, Maduabuchi Okereke and Fatunwase Alfred Olusegun.
Maduabuchi and Fatunwase had in separate petitions to the LMC dated November 5, 2019, bordering on claims of overdue payables, wrongful termination of contract and compensation. While Maduabuchi laid claims for a total of N10,400,000, Fatunwase asked for a total of N6,250,000.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed former Super Eagles’ captain, Joseph Yobo as assistant coach of the team to replace Imama Amapakabo.
Yobo, who played for the Nigeria U20 boys - Flying Eagles – during the FIFA World Youth Championship in 1999, won his first cap for the the senior team in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match away to Zambia in Chingola in April 2001, and played in three FIFA World Cup finals in 2002, 2010 and 2014.
