Ajibaye Wins Ufitfly Top Prize At IGC Captain Inaugural Golf Tourney

Charles Ajibaye of Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) has emerged winner in the men’s category of the Captain’s Inaugural Golf Tournament held over the weekend to usher in Tunji Oladosu as the new captain of the club.

Ajibaye who returned with 79 gross over 68 net that earned him a new handicap of 6.7 from 8 handicap to clinched a free return flight ticket to Dubai donated by the Ufitfly as the top prize in the golf competition. Dr. John Dongo emerged runners-up with 85 gross over 73 net while Amubioya .A that scored 87 gross over 74 net finished as second runners-up.

The new Captain, Oladosu was full of gratitude while making his speech during the closing ceremony of the golf event that had more than 180 golfers from different golf clubs in the federations in attendance.

 “I cannot but to sincerely express my gratitude and appreciation to every member for the trust and confidence reposed in me to be chosen as Captain to serve and steer the affairs and leadership of our great club. I also want to thank my fellow wonderful executive members that we are serving together in leading the club to the ‘promised land’.  

 “I will also want to reiterate that the job of promoting this club to the expected standard is our collective responsibility and we must work together as a team and one big family that is operating in love; for a house that is divided against itself shall not stand”. Oladosu noted in his address.

The planning committee Chairman, Barr Idowi Salami, a former Captain of the club in his address thanked other committee members that comprises of the second Vice Captain, Wale Osungbohun, Seyi Alaba, the Secretary of the club, Ayo Aluko, Competition Secretary, Yomi Layinka, Bamidele Abolarin, Ojo Adebayo, Shakin Labeodan, Omolaraeni Olaosebikan and Sade Ajala.

S.I Salami however singled out Otunba Abimbola Davis for big appreciation for his great contributions to the successful hosting of the event and his continued efforts to the development of the club, while thanking the donor of the star prize, Evang. Ajiboila Ogunkeyede, the CEO of Ufitfly for its constant support to the club.

“This tournament is solely meant to celebrate and ceremonially usher in Tunji Oladosu as the new Captain of this great club. It is my sincere belief that you all enjoyed our beautiful golf course, ambience and the uniqueness of our new club bar which is unarguably one of the best in the golfing community in this country”, Said the former Captain.

Omajuwa Appoints As New Head Of IGC Lady Section


The new executive committee of the prestigious Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) has appointed Oyinlola Omajuwa and three others to form the caretaker committee that will steer the affairs of the Ladies Section of the club pending further directives.

The action according to the letter signed by the club’s secretary, Seyi Alaba is in line the article 13:3:1-5 of the club’s constitution, which unanimously nominated Ms. Omolaraeni Olaosebikan, Mrs. Dorcas Oluwatunmise, Mrs. Lizzy Afonja, a former Lady Captain and Mrs. Oyinlola Omajuwa as head of the committee.

Omajuwa in her acceptance speech pledged to restore the past glory of this section by operating an open door policy and all inclusive procedure which involved carrying along the ladies in the section’s deliberations and discussions.

“I’m overwhelmed with your support and confidence in me, and while thanking you for your support, I want to assure you that I and my team will ensure that all ladies will be carried along in all the section’s deliberations and discussions. I also assure you that all efforts shall be made to restore the past glory of this section, but please note that we cannot succeed without your full support”, Omajuwa noted.

Ufitfly Bags BCOS’ 40th Anniversary Recognition Award

The renowned destination management company, Ufitfly was part of corporate firms recognized by the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) Television in the Service to Humanity award category during the event held over the weekend to mark the 40 years anniversary of the media outfit.

The Chairman of BCOS, Prince Dotun Oyelade in his remarks said the awards, were given to the different categories of persons and organizations in recognition of their impacts on the society, while singling out Absolute Success Travels the owner of the Ufitfly brand for it big contributions to the Sports and tourism sectors of the country.

He recalled how the CEO of the tour broking firm (Ufitfly), Evang. Ajibola Ogunkeyede has sponsored staffs of BCOS on an all expense paid trip to many international assignments, such as pilgrimages, FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar 2020.

“This support to BCOS is worthy several millions of naira, and we cannot but to appreciate this travels firm for its good gesture to us, and we are proud to associate with its good name and unblemished services to the general public”, said Prince Oyelade.

Psychometrics Study Will Be Introduce In Tertiary Institutions In Nigeria – Otunba Abimbola Davis

Chairman Governing Council of International Psychometric Centre, Otunba Abimbola Davis has revealed that the council is ready to expand the study of Psychometrics to all tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
Speaking to newsmen at the council head office located at NCRI Compound, Moore Plantation Apata, Ibadan Oyo State on Thursday, 16th June, 2022, Otunba Davis said in their efforts in expanding Psychometrics study in tertiary institutions within the federation, the council in association with Books and Sports Limited had decided to publish their news magazine called Genius Magazine.
Otunba Davis, who is a poet and an author, said the purpose of the magazine is to disseminate information about Psychometrics and educational system in general; "it is a snapshot of various activities of the International Psychometrics Centre and also serves the purpose of reinforcing and improved interaction between the Centre and its readers.
“The magazine is a specialized magazine, we introduced it purposely to disseminate information about Psychometrics and education in general. The magazine was initiated when we realised that the Psychometrics is something new to this environment in Nigeria but is a compulsory course all over the world”.
He further stated that the Genius Magazine which used to be an online publication was first printed in January, 2022, adding that the  magazine will not be available at newspaper stands because of its production cost but will rather be distributed to schools, ministries, agencies, embassies and the likes free of charge.
Speaking further, the Chairman said the entire country have five Psychometricians, all of them produced by the University of Ibadan and after much enlightenment on the important of the course and the fact that the federal government made it mandatory as a general course in all tertiary institutions, the students started coming in.
“We encountered few problems; one of it is that, the students were yet to understand what Psychometrics is all about. There were lots of kind of disrupting, we have to enlighten them. Moreover, in the entire country today we only have five Psychometricians at the masters’ level, all of them produced by the University of Ibadan,” Otunba Davis said.
Speaking further on expansion of the course, Otuba Abimbola said the Centre is ready to introduce Psychometrics as a subject in all Nigeria secondary schools so that it will be taking as a full course in all Tertiary Institutions.

“We discovered along the line that even among the students some of them were thinking if they had known about this, they would have took this as a full course so we now brought another program because you can’t run a full program when it is not taught from secondary school level so we are getting to introduce it to all secondary schools in Nigeria at all cost,”.
The chairman stated that in addition to promoting Psychometrics as full course, by September IPCentre will be introducing a platform which he called 'The Ripsnorters' in September, 2022, an online community of communities where netizens can get to meet different people at different spheres of life. He said the platform is expected to boost a minimum of ten million users by the time of launching.
“By September we will be introducing a platform, a full porter which I call The Ripsnorters. It is expected to boost a minimum of ten million users by the time we are launching it and it would be another way of disseminating information about Psychometrics”.
“We are introducing this platform so that you can discover your talent and first thing you do if you subscribe today, is to undertake at least six or eight tests to know who you are even if you lie we will know you lie.
"It was designed by our partner, Cambridge Psychiatric Centre which is under Cambridge University. They designed it for their students, gave us the access to it and it was modify to suite our own purpose so you be may surprised that you actually studied theatre act but when you take the test, it will tell you to take a vocation in fashion designing will best suit you”.
While speaking on some of the ways to promote the platform, Otunba Davis said the Centre is ready to collaborate with major new medium in the country; "the newspapers will help the Centre to direct people, most especially advertisers to the platform through their employment page.
“We will be collaborating with all the advertisements on employment page of newspapers and tell the advertisers, that we have a platform that will help you advertise your wares freely without taking money”.
In addition to expanding Psychometrics in Nigeria schools, he added that IPCentre is planning to introduce Campus Psychology Tour in all tertiary institutions within the country to create awareness for the program and to shape the minds of the students.

Heineken Backs IGC Captain’s Inaugural Golf Tourney

Golfers and members the prestigious Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) are in for a good time, as a global brand, Heineken has pledged its support to back the Captain’s Inaugural Golf Tournament that will usher in Tunji Oladosu as the new captain of the club.

The tournament with over 180 expected participants is scheduled for 24 to 25 June 2022 and has attracted support from the leading beer brand that is famous for its promo­tion of sports in Nigeria, especially football but now taking interest in golf with the pledge of creating experience in a world class Heineken atmosphere for golfers.
The new Captain of the Ibadan Golf Club, Mr. Tunji Oladosu has also promised to take the social club to the greatest of heights, while thanking members for always supporting all his moves since he was nominated to complete the tenure of the past Captain, Ola Ibironke popularly known as ‘Dudu Heritage’ who suddenly passed away last year before the completion of his tenure. 
He promised to do everything within his capacity to sustain the rich golfing tradition Ibadan Golf Club is noted for while assuring golfers that have signified to participate the inaugural tournament an exciting moment and warm hospitality of IGC.

Oba Oginni, Fadulu Win ITC's FATOIL Badminton Doubles Championship

Sports enthusiast, HRH Olatunde Oginni and the table topper,  Toba Fadulu have emerged champions of FATOIL Badminton Doubles Championship after the final duel at the badminton section Ibadan Tennis Club, (ITC) on Monday.

The badminton event was organizerd to celebrate and commemorate the birthday of Otunba Olusola Omole, the Captain of the section.
Oba Oginni who owns the defunct Flogin Football Club along with Toba Fadulu subdued Bamidele Ogunrinola and Oluseyi Kayode-Adedeji in the double badminton competition inside the indoor badminton court of ITC Iyaganku, Ibadan.
Otunba Omole, celebrant also play a ceremonial match before the final game as part of activities arranged to entertain the friends and well-wishers that came in large numbers to celebrate with him.
Oba Olatunde Oginni in his remark after the prize presentation commended the celebrant for his love for the development of badminton and pray that he will witness many years.
The President of Ibadan Tennis Club, Prince Oluwole Peter Akinyoye who was part of dignitaries that watched the final and closing ceremony, also full of praises for the celebrant over his selflessness disposition in the badminton section and the club in general.
Otunba Omole in his remark thanked all and sundry who had contributed to huge success recorded during the competition, while pledging to sustain the tournament as an annual event to commemorate his birthday.
Medals, prizes were presented to winners at the end of the event while lots of freebies were shared to members of the club and guests that graced the event.

Multi-million Naira Properties Destroyed At UCH Guest House


Properties worth millions of naira were destroyed when a caterpillar accompanied by armed military men stormed the ten units of shops recently constructed at University College Hospital (UCH) Guest House Ibadan, by yet to ascertain authority and pulled down the structure on early morning of Friday, 10th of June.

According to investigation, the property have been concession to a business mogul and traditional leader, HRH Olatunde Oginni by the management of University College Hospital, Ibadan after which he constructed the shopping edifice in front of the property, “but surprisingly some people just came to pulled it down this morning” according to sources within the premises.
The occupants of the shops were seen wailing as their properties were being destroyed under the supervision of the fierce-looking soldiers that even assaulted staff of the guest house and some of the shop owners without any prior notice or court order.
When contacted, Olatunde Oginni who owns the property for reactions, said his counsel has taken up the matter towards ensuring appropriate legal action so seek justice and redress in a short while.
