Islamic High School Ibadan 1992 Sets Celebrate End Of The Year Get Together

The National Secretary of the Islamic High School Orita Bashorun, Ibadan, Old Student Association, (IHSOSA), Abideen Lasun Ladeji has urged members of the association not to leave the development of education and school alone to the government but to contribute their quota and work in unity for the progress of their Alma mater.
Ladeji, while speaking at the annual end of the year get together of 1992 sets of the school in Ibadan, said members of the old student of the school should endevour in all their effort to complement the efforts of the state government in the educational section which he believe will lift the school from its present poor condition and restore its lost glory.
"I believe that the government alone can not lift the condition of education in the country but with the help of every individual. If every citizen of this great nation decided to contribute his own little quota to the development of education by taking care of our Alma mater, it would go a long way in raising the standard of education in the country," Ladeji said.
Speaking in the same vein, the principal of the school, Babatunde Fasasi, who single out the 1992 sets for praise urged all other sets of the school to emulate the '92 sets for their positive development of the school.

"When I first arrived newly at this school, I was warmly welcome by the '92 sets and since then they have been part and parcel of the development of the school in their own little ways.
"I can remember vividly that the jersey donated to the school during one of the '92 sets member, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde's birthday celebration, was the tonic that propelled the school team to a good finished in the recent concluded Principal Cup and I believe that if every old students contribute their quota to the development of the school, sky will only be the beginning of greater things for the school," Fasasi said.
Chairman of the organising committee for the annual get together, Alhaji Saheed Yagboyaju while addressing the gathering call on the members to have a plan for their departed mates and it was unanimously agreed that there will be a contribution that will be shared among the families of the departed colleagues.
In her observation on what could further uplift the school, Amb Romoke Ayinde said the old student should found a way to curb truancy among by providing a kind of bukataria  in the school to stop the student from roaming about in the name of going to buy things.
"Whenever I passed the school area, I usually see students of the school going around during the school hours just to buy food or snacks.
"Since  the government have upgraded the school to a model school, I see no reason why we the old students can not provide a kind of seat in place where the students will be able to buy whatever they need instead of roaming about on the street," Amb Ayinde said.
The gathering again unanimously agreed  to build a bukataria and donate it to the school.
Present at the event includes the outgoing president, Dr Isiaq Omotosho, Mr Fasasi, Mr. Abideen Lasun, Mrs. Rashidat Sharumi, Alhaji Chief Saheed Yagboyaju among others.

Your Disaster Claim For My Sack Is Ridiculous –Rohr Blasts Pinnick

Former manager of Nigeria's Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has reacted to statement of Nigeria Football Federation president, Amaju Pinnick that because of poor team discipline and management are reason for his sack are incorrect.

The NFF had last Sunday announced that it had terminated the contract of the German gaffer, which was to expire in December 2022.
The football body’s boss Pinnick then granted an interview to Channels TV, where he hinted that the move was necessary as the Super Eagles were a step away from a disaster.
“We did everything for one major factor that discipline in the team has practically been lost in the dressing room. Discipline in the team was at its lowest and once you remove discipline, that foundation on the team will be lost.
“Players will now turn back at you. Players will believe they are indispensable. A lot of factors that will now militate against the team,” Pinnick said.
But Rohr is not impressed by Pinnick’s statement, with the former Girondins Bordeaux manager maintaining that he had the total support of Super Eagles players and coaching crew.
The 68-year-old pointed to players sending him heart-warming messages after his dismissal as a signal that they appreciated his work.
Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper Maduka Okoye and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen are among the Eagles stars to have penned ‘Thank you’ messages to Rohr.
Rohr also opined that the NFF hiring Augustine Eguavoen as Technical Director a year ago to oversee his work indicated that his sack was premeditated.
In an interview with ESPN, Rohr reacted to the Super Eagles being a disaster about to happen.
“This is ridiculous. Everybody knows it. The dressing room was always with me,” the former Gabon chief coach said.
“All the players are writing to me and thanking me for my professionalism, for my independent work, for my presence.
“The dressing room was 100% behind me. And I hope it will also be 100% behind the new coach.
“I think they already had this prepared. They brought the new coach [Eguavoen] one year ago, so he could have a look. He would ask for the technical reports because he was Technical Director and Paul [Aigbogun], his assistant, was doing for me the work of scouting the opponents.
“But I wish them all the best because I want my players to succeed, to win the AFCON. I want Nigeria to go to the World Cup, and I’m sure that they will.”
Still, Rohr holds no ill-feeling towards Pinnick. Instead, the ex-Burkina Faso coach is full of appreciation to the football administrator for giving him the chance to handle the country’s national team.
“So, five wonderful years and four months, and I thank [NFF president] Amaju Pinnick, who gave me the chance to work in this country.
“I will forget the end. What happened this last one year was not easy, but now I hope that everybody will be correct and can live like friends,” Rohr added.

Super Club Structure Lures Me To Remo Stars -Oyedele

Abdullahi Oyedele(right) in action for FC Slutsk

Former FC Slutsk striker, Abdullahi Oyedele has revealed the reason he joined the newly promoted Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Remo Stars, saying the club structure enticed him.
Oyedele, who is one of the 13 new players unveiled ahead of the new 2021/2022 NPFL season, said what made him decide to pitch his tent with the Ikenne based team is the way the management handles the structure of the team.
"I have played for foreign clubs and what I saw at Remo Stars convinced me to join the team. Talk about the management, the welfare, state of the stadium just to mention but a few, are what I saw when I was in Moldova and Belarus," Oyedele said.
On why he left FC Slutsk, the Haruna Babangida Academy product said he finished his contract with the club and he was looking for a better one when Covid-19 pandemic hit the world last year.
"I ended my contract with FC Slutsk and I was about to get another one with a big European club because of my exploit with the Belarusian team when Covid-19 hit the world and because of the traveling restriction, there is no way I can go there to sign.
"Instead of crying over spilt milk or feeling sorry about the whole thing, I started training and to God be the glory, I now have a club with a good management and structure," he added.
On what to expect when the league started, Oyedele said the teeming fans of Remo Stars should be rest assured that the team with its level of preparation will spring surprise and have a very good outing.
"Remo Stars aim is to finish the league in top level so as to play in the continent next season," Oyedele said.
